Ukraine President Zelensky appeals to Trump in bid to 'make things right' after explosive Oval Office meeting with Trump and Vance went awry

Days after an explosive meeting in the Oval Office with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance went sideways, and ended without a signed deal on rare Earth minerals, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to Trump with a post on X Tuesday morning in a bid to “make things right” with Trump and “work fast to end the war.”

Zelensky admitted the meeting “did not go the way it was supposed” to have gone and that the meeting outcome, which sent shockwaves around the world, was “regrettable.” He added that he was ready to sign the rare Earth minerals deal that he intended to sign Friday before the meeting spun out of control and ended abruptly without the Ukraine leader staying for lunch at the White House as planned.
